Armada Built were engaged to design & construct a new, iconic retail corner + rooftop venue in the heart of New Farm. A boutique retail offering featuring over 1,100m² of restaurant, dining and retail over 3 levels, 84 Merthyr Rd is a meticulously crafted, architecturally driven project that blurs the line between refined design and community connection. Working alongside highly regarded architects Twohill & James, the basement + two level structure with expansive roof top area and activated laneways provides well designed, thoughtfully landscaped spaces that honours the local character for boutiques, restaurants and bars. A complex build on a tight inner-city site with a highwater table, a raw and unforgiving material palette and intensive service briefs, we coordinated structure, services and façade detailing to achieve a crisp finish, tenant-ready shells, and a resilient building that performs long term.
